Not Yet Ready for Countdown and Utterly Engaged!

SOOOO, I haven't blogged in awhile, but it's been kind of nuts these past few weeks.  As I'm sure all my wedded friends know, the last 2 months before the wedding is crazy!  I've been running a mental checklist of all the things I need to get done, and it's endless!!  And I've started classes again (my last semester of school EVER!!) and I'm back at the office working 20 hours a week.  Add in all the gorgeous wedding blogs of super clever ideas, the fear that my wedding won't be as cute or as chic, and hiring a personal trainer so that I will have nice arms and flat tummy for the wedding day, it's a miracle I haven't lost my mind...yet!

To catch up, my fabulous planner Debbie and I made a trip down to San Diego to finalize vendors and check out the venue.  After a 12-hour day of meetings, Debbie and I secured a DJ, a videographer and finalized the flowers.  Whew!  Thankfully, the major things have been taken care of and now, I get to focus just on the details.

Last Wednesday night, Debbie, my brother, his fiancee Cindy, and I went to an event thrown by Utterly Engaged.  If you don't know Utterly Engaged, check out their website here.  It's a gorgeous e-zine about weddings and planning, and they have an amazing taste level.  I almost hate them for all the beautiful ideas they have.  The awesome thing is that the creators of UE are 3 Asian-American women, they're based in Orange County, and they are super talented!  LOVE (and hate!  hehe) them!

Called the "Utterly Spanking New Year Party," various vendors, including coordinators, designers, caterers and favors, all presented their goods.  As a guest, we each received a cute gift bag filled with goodies, and we got to sample everything from mini donuts and cotton candy to chocolate bacon (none for me tho!).

They also held a competition for the best table design.  Here are some pictures.

There were lots of cute ideas, as well as a lot of weird ideas.  Haha.  I doubt that I'll use any one idea completely, but maybe incorporate an element here and there.

That's all for now.  We'll see what happens next!
